My name is Emma Geyer, I am a junior and I am currently in Block one in the teaching program. I am interning at Balsz Elementary School in Phoenix, and I am so excited for the opportunity to be in the classroom this semester!
I think that technology in the classroom can be very intimidating for a teacher with how advanced things are these days and how rapidly they are changing and advancing, but I think that it is a good tool to use in the classroom as it opens a lot of doors and creates opportunities that wouldn't be available by opening a textbook.
Hi Emma! I agree with your thoughts about sometimes being intimidated even though it can afford students some pretty unique learning experiences that they wouldn't otherwise be able to have. You know, some of your future students would probably love to teach you about new technology and its uses. I feel teachers don't ALWAYS necessarily have to be the only classroom expert. Who knows everything anyway? Let's let our students teach us too!
